You can blame Putin for my absence. Iâve been distracted by Twitterverseâs brain rot due to America not being (directly) implicated in an international crisis.
I mean, whatâs the world coming to? I thought America was supposed to be responsible for ALL the global fuck ups.
Smh
Anyway, recent events have reminded me that you should never trust someone that gets paid to express political opinions. Spoiler Alert: theyâre full of shit and need to be ostracized from civil society.
So anyways, WWIII could happen. Check back with you later.

Iâm the ACTUAL Michael Shermer (of REASON magazine of course). So the REAL Michael Shermer canât send a cease and desist letter to me because thatâs CANCEL CULTURE.
And you know what I hate?
UTAH (and everyone in it)
You know what else I hate?
TRIBALISM
Of course, IâM not susceptible to tribalism. But you are.
I form all of my own opinions based on research Iâve done with my own BRAIN and cocaine. So no need to listen to anyone else.
But YOU need to âhave conversationsâ and compare âfactsâ and âideasâ with people of âopposing viewsâ (except the âWOKESCOLDSâ of course) because your âbrain dont work too goodâ or whatever.
Donât have a conversation with me tho. I prefer to get my facts from important people.
K BYE đ

Iâm looking forward to middle age.
Why?
Because it gets me one step closer to being a dirty old man.
âBut getting old sucks.â
For you maybe.
For me, I get better with age. Better looking, better at detecting bullshit, better at fucking (not that I ever have sex). Getting old is great.
For example:
-Get to take viagra. Not recreationally…like I do now…but because you HAVE to.
-Donât have to drive
-Can blame everything on impending senility.
-Piss and shit yourself
-Donât have to have sex anymore
-OR you can fuck all you want because who gives a shit anymore?
As you can see, the pros vastly outweigh cons when it comes to getting old.
âArenât you afraid of dying?â
Fuck no! Living has been an epic pain in my ass.
âWhy not try suicide then?â
Good question. But then that would deprive me of old age. So fuck that.

My news feed has been buzzing the last 24 hours. More so than usual. No, it has nothing to do with the Russians possibly invading Ukraine. Itâs the announcement of a fourth âKelvin Timelineâ Star Trek film.
Unlike most Star Trek fans, I am content with saying that Star Trek died with the last episode of Enterprise. And we all owe Rick Berman an apology (even though he sounds like a legit asshole).
So I donât give a shit about this new film (written by a bunch of writers whose work I also donât give a shit about). đ¨ Spoiler Alert đ¨: itâs gonna suck.
How do I know?
Let me tell you about two men named JJ Abrams and Alex Kurtzman.
Perhaps I shouldnât be too harsh. They did revive Trek. Because of them, there are four…about to be five…Star Trek shows airing. Audiences change. As ridiculous as it sounds now, TOS fans were reluctant to accept TNG.
Now Iâm a TNG fan thatâs reluctant to accept Kurtzman Trek.
The thing that TOS and TNG had in common though is one VERY important thing: Gene Roddenberry. And Roddenberry was succeeded by Rick Berman, who was hellbent on carrying out his predecessorâs vision.
No such chain of succession with this new Trek.
JJ Abrams did do one thing right though: the first 10 minutes of Star Trek 09. And that kinda highlights my biggest gripe with this current set of producers: they are Kliff Kingsbury of Star Trek.
All three movies, plus Picard, plus Discovery, start off fairly strong in their opening acts (or first few episodes) and then inexplicably derail into a total train wreck.
Moreover, this new âcinematicâ feel to Star Trek just doesnât…feel right. Trek works best on a shoestring budget, phenomenal writing, and the perfect casting. Case in point: Wrath of Khan. It is probably the Trek film with the smallest budget, but itâs also considered the best.
Thereâs a Shakespearean, theater-like quality to the Roddenberry/Berman-era Trek that, I think, many fans find appealing (even if we didnât appreciate it at the time).
Of course, those days of television and movies are over (in part, due to JJ Abramsâ impact on the industry) and thatâs okay. Things change.
Which is why we must let Star Trek go.
I owe Michael Dillahunty an apology (not that he gives a shit).
When people call into your show regularly and try to deny reality and reasoning, I could see how one would lose their cool. In a discussion, when one person is correct and the other is wrong, when the correct person is an asshole, it does not negate the legitimacy of their claim.
Iâve often said that proof of unambiguous truth does little to change peopleâs minds. Probably because, and I could be wrong on this, that most of the decisions we make throughout a day are of the aesthetic preference/value kind (good or bad) and not the true/false kind. Nevertheless, where true/false claims are made…which is usually the source of our arguments…either someone is right or both parties are wrong (or both partially correct, or both WHOLLY correct but are lost in semantics).
Which leads me to this question: is it better to be correct and an asshole? Or better to be wrong but nice?
I think the answer is obvious: the former.
Or, in other words, truth trumps all.
Now obviously, truth is difficult to establish. Weâre human. Weâre finite. Thatâs why we have to rely on logic, reasoning, evidence, and experimental science to establish such claims. If you want to deny the validity of those methods, you have to use those methods youâre denying, which means youâd corner yourself. Of course, most arguments and disagreements are of the moral/ethical kind.
Morals and ethics are, in all likelihood, a human invention which are subject to change given the historical paradigm. But so what? Iâd say that these ethics and the laws and social engagements they promote are VERY necessary for a society…however big or small…to function. And where these ethics fail the needs of a given paradigm, then itâs our moral obligation to challenge them. Thatâs my general description of morals/ethics that, I think, many would agree on. (If not, then excuse the hell out of me)
So what methods should we use to establish these ethics and morals?
Thatâs where Dillahunty is unapologetic: itâs humanism. Does humanism have its flaws? Iâm sure. But itâs kinda hard to gain the moral upper hand when youâre arguing AGAINST the best interests of all people….or even against SOME people.
So Iâve changed me mind: Matt Dillahunty has every right to be a jerk while heâs arguing for truth and well-being for all of humankind.
Deal.

Well Iâll be damned.
It looks like weâre actually getting somewhere. But without a plot, conflict, hero, or villain, the story simply becomes another character study, therefore making the main thrust of the story âman against himselfâ or some pretentious bullshit like that.
That being said, letâs close this thing out…
***
After returning home from my weekly STD checkup, there was a package on my doorstep. It was addressed to my neighbor, but I took inside and opened it anyway.
In the box was a stuffed teddy bear and a letter from someone named âgrandmaâ. I thought that was a stupid name but continued reading anyway. The letter said:
Dear Mikey,
Grandma and grandpa love you very much. We hope that you feel better soon.
Love,
Grandma and Grandpa
I put the contents back into the box and poured a drink. I was supposed to start taking medication for something called âsyphilisâ but I threw that shit into the trash.
âMaybe I should return the box,â I thought. But I wasnât so sure. I lit up a cigarette, shot up heroin, took a bump of coke, played a round of Russian Roulette, then taped up the box.
As I was laying the box on their doorstep, my neighbor opened the door. âGet the fuck off my porch,â he said.
âThis is YOUR package asshole!â I replied. âUPS wrongly dropped it off at my house.â
âWhy should I believe you?â he asked after he pulled out his .38. âYouâve played your drums, lit off fireworks, and engaged in target practice with your shotgun at ungodly hours of the night. Youâve also ding dong ditched my ass, used my WiFi, and played peeping Tom on my wife. Well guess what PAL! Youâre now on MY property and am well within MY right to blast YOUR ass!â
I raised my hands. âNow calm down John,â I said. âWeâre both sensible adults. We can talk this out.â
âNo,â he replied. âIâM the sensible adult. Youâre an asshole.â
John then fired his .38 into my gut and I laid there bleeding out in his front yard. He picked up the package and opened it.
âWell Iâll be a son of a bitch,â he said, âyou finally did something right in your life.â
I lifted my head up while holding my guts in. âPlease call an ambulance John,â I said.
âSure, Iâll get right on that.â John then looked up into the sky and smiled. âItâs nice finally getting some peace and quiet around here,â he said.
He went back inside and shut the door.
THE END

Most people get their opinions from âbooksâ, ânewsâ, âscienceâ, âeducationâ, other âexternal sources,â and âother peopleâ.
Not me.
You see, Iâm an actual FREE thinker.
Everyone keeps telling me âyou should stop drinking your piss.â But why? Itâs completely natural.
My ex-wife keeps saying âyou need to pay child support.â But how do you know heâs my son?
The police keep telling me that I have to âwear pants at the public library.â But I donât follow the laws of man.
Iâm not one of you sheeple.

Look, you guys have been clamoring for this.
I donât want this story to continue. YOU do.
Therefore I am holding you personally responsible for everything I write henceforth.

âYou canât use racial slurs in conference calls!â the Human Resource officer told me.
âSusan, stop,â I said, âyou know how much you turn me on when youâre angry.â
âIâm afraid that you will be suspended without pay until the Board decides what to do with you,â she responded.
âIâm not racist!â I declared. âI was simply stating what the Papa Johnâs guy said in HIS racist phone call!â
âYou are hereby suspended. Please vacate the premise.â
âBitch,â I said as I stood up.
I was so upset that I got drunk and drove to a cockfight. As I was placing a bet, my friend Don noticed something was wrong.
âWhatâs on your mind Bill?â Don asked as we were sharing a crack pipe.
âI donât know anymore Don,â I said. âI feel like Iâm stalling. All Iâm doing is filling my time with sex, drugs, and absurd behavior. Itâs gotten me nowhere. I donât ask for much. All I really want is a quiet life. Sounds simple enough but I canât seem to get out of my own way. Iâm lost and the walls are crumbling all around me. Is it possible Don? Is it possible that I am the problem?â
Don took a hit off the pipe and thought for a moment.
âNah,â he finally said.
âYouâre probably right.â
Then we picked up some hookers off skid row.
People are shocked to hear this when I say it, but I genuinely do NOT care about question of Godâs existence.
When I hear people arguing this question, itâs like listening to nerds getting into a heated argument over which fictional spaceship is faster: the Millenium Falcon or the Enterprise D?
Itâs a nonsensical argument and I treat nonsense in the only sensical way: I ignore it.
Which leads me the âAtheist Experienceâ.
For the record, I agree with 99.99% with what this asshat, Matt Dillahunty, is saying. His logic holds up. But this is the #1 thing that drives me bonkers about YouTube atheists: logic is fetishized.
Iâll concede: maybe this is a âmeâ problem. Perhaps I view logic, reasoning, science, and philosophy…and perhaps religion too…as a vehicle, not a destination. That may be too âBuddhistâ, for a lack of a better word, way of thinking of these things but it has helped me âkeep an eye on the ballâ and not get hung up on the small stuff.
I mean, this is the purpose of life, right? To find meaning in a chaotic world? To love life, to enjoy company of others, to pass on our wisdom to the next generation? Life is about the sublime moments. When Iâm trying to enjoy my short existence on this earth, I donât really care what vehicle I drive to get to work.
Iâll always have respect for someone that channels their beliefs in a transformative way….way more than somebody that demands you follow the rules of logic. That being said, some atheists donât need belief in a higher power to enjoy life to the fullest. I guess Iâm one of them (Iâm more agnostic. Or, more precisely, apathetic).
Matt Dillahunty is, however, just an asshole.
YouTube atheists arenât alone in this phenomenon. Everyone is complicit is this internet âdunkingâ culture, where we try to make our perceived enemies look like idiots. Itâs disgusting.
Dillahunty clearly had some bad experience with religion and is bitter because of it. I get it. This happened to me too. Iâm sure it happened to all of us. But what are you trying to prove?
I think if the experience of the last few years have showed us anything, itâs that showing facts and logic is totally not persuasive. I mean, it CAN be…over time. But that absolutely cannot be done in a debate style format…especially when one of the participants is being a complete fucking dick.
Iâm sure weâve all been in a position where we find ourselves in a heated political argument where we know that weâre right, and THEY know that youâre right, yet strangely our interlocutor never says âyou know, youâre right…youâve changed my mind.â If this has happened to you then youâre a fucking liar.
Thereâs something deeply hidden in the human psyche that makes us believe things that are so patently false and absurd, that we just believe them. I think thereâs a Latin phrase for it. Iâm sure if we interrogate our own beliefs enough, weâll find one. And when people call bullshit on it, we believe them even harder.
I think a helpful skill to learn, that when you find yourself in a heated argument over religion or politics…and you have your opponent on the ropes…make sure the jokeâs on you. Donât be so far up your own ass that you canât make fun of yourself. In that case, you mightâve won the debate but you lost the war.
Peopleâs minds donât change over night.
What Dillahunty did was take his bad experience and project it onto âBrandonâ. Now Brandon probably believes whatever nonsense he believes in that much harder. Nothing got solved.
Besides, what is an âAtheist Experienceâ?
Isnât that just âExperienceâ?
